Rates and estimator
Charter rates by aircraft
Typical hourly rates for every class of private aircraft, what a 1.5, 3 or 5 hour trip costs with federal excise tax, and how to turn an estimate into a price you can book.
Hourly charter rates, 2026 estimates
US market ranges per flight hour before the 7.5% federal excise tax, segment fees, airport fees and repositioning. Where your trip falls in the range depends on the aircraft's age, the operator, the date and how far the jet has to travel to reach you.

Estimate a 1.5, 3 or 5 hour trip
Pick a class and a flight time. The estimate multiplies the hourly range by the flight time and adds the 7.5% federal excise tax.

What an hourly rate leaves out
The hourly rate prices the aircraft in the air. A full quote adds the rest, and these are the lines that move it most.
- Repositioning. If the nearest suitable jet is based elsewhere, the empty hours to reach you or return home are usually billed.
- Daily minimums. On multi-day trips, operators often bill one to two hours for days the aircraft waits with little or no flying.
- Crew overnights. Hotels, meals and transport for the crew when the trip runs past a day.
- Airport and handling fees. Landing, parking and FBO handling charges vary widely by airport and season.
- Taxes. The 7.5% federal excise tax and a per-passenger segment fee of about $5 per leg on domestic trips; international trips are taxed differently.
- Extras. Winter de-icing, catering, Wi-Fi and international handling or permits.
