The line items

What "all-in" actually means.

Every charter is built from the same six line items. Brokers who quote only the hourly rate are showing you one of six.

01 / BLOCK HOURS

Aircraft block hours

Time from engine start at origin to engine shutdown at destination, plus minimums. This is the line most brokers quote as "the price."

Light ~$3,900/hr · Heavy ~$8,500+/hr
02 / FUEL

Fuel & surcharges

Fuel varies by market and route. Surcharges float with jet-A pricing and may apply on repositioning legs. Always disclosed on our receipts.

Often 6–10% of block
03 / AIRPORT

Landing & handling

Each airport charges a landing fee plus ramp / FBO handling. KTEB, KPBI, KLAS, KASE all differ. High-density or slot-controlled airports cost more.

~$400–$2,500 per leg
04 / TAX

Segment FET 7.5%

Federal Excise Tax of 7.5% applies to domestic U.S. transportation under 14 CFR. International departures have a different fee structure entirely.

7.5% domestic segments
05 / SERVICE

Catering

Standard tray service is usually modest. Custom catering (specific restaurants, dietary, premium bar) escalates quickly and is quoted line-by-line.

~$200–$1,500+ per leg
06 / TIME

Overnight & wait time

If the aircraft stays with you overnight, or waits on the ground between legs, per-night fees and short-stop minimums apply. Round-trips often save vs. two one-ways.

~$1,000–$2,500/night

Receipts, explained

Frequently asked about all-in charter cost.

No. Many brokers lead with an hourly rate because it looks lower. The honest all-in number adds landing fees, fuel surcharges, FET, handling, catering, and any overnights. We itemize every line on every receipt — the hourly rate is one of six lines, not the total.
The biggest surprises are landing & handling (which vary a lot by airport — KASE or KLAS cost more than a quiet regional field), repositioning fees if the aircraft is not based at your origin, and overnight charges when the aircraft stays with you. Segment FET 7.5% on domestic trips is also frequently omitted from "headline" quotes.
The 7.5% Federal Excise Tax applies to domestic U.S. transportation under 14 CFR. Certain flights — including some flights to and from rural airports, and open-leg repositioning — may be treated differently. International itineraries use a different fee structure (often international departure fees and head taxes) instead of segment FET. Your receipt shows the exact line that applies.
Yes. International chartels add navigation fees, country permits, customs & immigration handling, and international departure taxes that vary by country (UK APD, for example, scales with distance and cabin). Long-haul heavy jets to Europe or the Middle East typically add $1,500–$5,000+ in international fees above the domestic line items. We list these as their own line.
Always — that is the default. Every quote we return itemizes block hours, fuel / surcharges, landing & handling, segment FET (or international equivalents), catering, and any overnights. You will receive three itemized options per request so you can compare different aircraft classes line-by-line, not headline-to-headline.
